Tender description

NHS England have recently taken a decision on the future location of specialised children’s cancer services here; work now commences to implement the service change. The programme remains high-profile and we must continue to engage with a wide range of stakeholders. This includes being 'on the front foot' with regards media and public affairs who will continue to be important stakeholders. The skills to do this are a material gap within the Programme. There is not enough capacity or relevant expertise within the current NHSE comms team or with any other teams that we are working with. Now that a decision has been made; it will be important that we can get the next phase of the programme underway as smoothly as possible. Failure to resource the media, communications, public affairs and parliamentary side of this work is a serious reputational and programme risk. Maintenance of relationships with local politicians, MPs and with the media will continue to be important. External support is therefore required.
