Additional Network for RTGS

Tender description

The Bank is considering the possibility of delivering an additional secured messaging network to enable participants to connect to the Bank's Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system. The service is aimed to support operational resiliency by providing an additional means of payments messaging alongside that already provided by Swift. An additional network could also support ease of access to central bank money by providing new ways of connecting and leveraging RTGS. This is a part of the Bank's long-term vision for the renewed RTGS service: to act as an open platform for the UK financial services industry to facilitate safe and efficient settlement in central bank money. The deadline to respond is 16 May 2024 16:00. Lot 1: The Bank is now looking for responses to support discovery work and identification of commercial solutions for providing an additional network. The Bank is also looking to assess the likely costs to enable the Bank to set reasonable budgets for the capabilities the network may need. At this stage, the Bank is seeking only initial insights as to how you might provide such a network solution. It is not the intent of the Bank to compare responses for the purposes of any pre-qualification or short listing. This is a 'Request for Information' only.
