Tender description
Liverpool City Council does not have a sufficient supply of permanent affordable suitable accommodation to meet the demand in the City. It needs to develop and expand different options and approaches. The Private Rented Sector market is a key part of any solution. The Council needs to develop its understanding of the sector, in order to have a better awareness of the challenges, drivers and influences that affect the market. This knowledge will inform and shape how the Council effectively uses its resources, to increase the attractiveness and supply of this type of homes. It will help develop strategies and plans, and support the Council in the development of methods and tools. Liverpool City Council is keen to develop and have effective relationships with landlords and providers of Private Rented Sector accommodation from across the City, to engage and learn from them, and to work together to tackle the housing challenge. The aim of this questionnaire is to ask for landlords and provider’s support in shaping the Council’s approach to working with the Sector. This will inform and support the Council’s plans with the aim of expanding the Council’s level of activity and use. This information is requested as part of a soft market testing exercise in order to seek the market’s input and views on providing Private Rented Sector permanent accommodation in Liverpool, the capacity of the market to supply, and identify any barriers or constraints. Keywords: accommodation, permanent, affordable, private, sector, tenant
