Residential Neurological Rehabilitation at Level 2b

Provision of six (6) fixed beds delivering Level 2b Residential Neurological Rehabilitation Services providing rehabilitation for people with more complex neurological disease or injury. Specialist neurological rehabilitation services play a vital role in post-acute care and management of medically stable patients, following step down from acute or level 1 neurological rehabilitation, with the aim to optimise individual's recovery and support a safe transition back to the community. Lot 1: Level 2b Residential Neurological Rehabilitation Service provides rehabilitation for people with more complex neurological disease or injury. This centres around enabling people to achieve optimal functional levels, managing residual impairments of neurological damage and achieving the best possible quality of life within their local community following discharge. This will be achieved through the application of a holistic person-centred approach to rehabilitation which is integrated seamlessly with all other health, social care and voluntary services. This service is aimed at adults over the age of 18, however, consideration will be given to those nearing the age of 18 years old by exception on a case-by-case basis, in discussion with service providers, families, CQC and SNEE ICB. Short Stay Neurological Rehabilitation is available to all individuals registered with an Ipswich and East Suffolk and West Suffolk GP who meet the clinical need as set out in the specification. The service will deliver six (6) permanently established beds within the Suffolk locality at The Chantry Neurological Centre, Ipswich. The NHS Standard Contract (Short form) will be for five years and cease on 31 March 2029. The contract will be subject to inflationary uplifts. NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board are awarding the contract named within this notice under the Direct Award C process which is outlined within the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The provider named in this notice is an existing provider and has been reviewed through a Key Criteria assessment to ensure the awarding body is satisfied with current performance and reasonably expects the provider to be able to satisfy the contract which is the subject of this notice. The contract which is the subject of this notice has not changed considerably when compared with the existing / previous contract delivered by the named provider. The ICB may wish to introduce additional services during the lifetime of the contract ("Contract modifications"). Such contract modifications will be contemplated where additional requirements are similar and or complementary to the services already included in the Specification, at any given time. Such expansion would be by the addition of services commissioned by the Authority as named in the Contract Notice. To this end, after the award of contract, there is a possibility that the contract may be varied as allowable in accordance with the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.
