BT29 - Parliament Square Streetscape Project

Tender description

Parliament Square Street Scape Project is a security scheme, the implementation of which necessitates significant changes to the public highway in the immediate vicinity and further afield. To realise the security benefits, the feasibility stage concluded with a proposal to close the east and south sides of Parliament Square and to facilitate the appropriate access to the Palace of Westminster from the south. This revised highway layout will also enable significant benefits to be realised in terms of active travel, providing more pedestrian comfort, and linking cycle lanes between Millbank and Victoria Embankment.
