Job Title: Senior/Safeguarding Lawyer (Safeguarding & Education) Rate of Pay: ?24.08ph Hours: 37 hours per week Location: Sandwell Council House, Freeth Street, Oldbury, B69 3DE Start Date: ASAP Contract type: Agency Job Description and Personnel Specification are attached, which also provides more information above the role. Brief description: We are looking for a Solicitor/Barrister to join our busy and supportive team dealing with children safeguarding. The post-holder will provide legal advice and advocacy to support the child protection function and in applications under the Children Act 1989 and Adoption and Children Act 2002. Caseworker support will also be available. A qualified solicitor/barrister is required with experience of providing child protection legal advice and advocacy who is able to work with minimal supervision. Qualification Requirements: o Possession of current practising certificate which is free of conditions. o Qualified Solicitor/Barrister Authorised to Practise.
