Tender description

The Taxi Licensing Service is responsible for the administration and enforcement of drivers, hackney carriage and private hire vehicles and private hire operators in the district of Sheffield. At present, the licensing service licenses circa 3000 drivers, 2000 private hire vehicles, 500 hackney carriage vehicles and 70 private hire operators. Legislative and local policy requirements dictate that identification should be worn by drivers and that vehicles should be clearly identifiable. Licensees renew their driver licence on either a one, two or three period. Vehicle licenses are renewed annually.
