Summary of the work Delivery Integration and Assurance Role to enable the complex delivery of Technology Services' products and services, for one or more major programmes of transformational change. Specialist role Delivery manager Expected Contract Length 24 months with an optional extension period of up to 6 months Latest start date Wednesday 1 March 2023 Maximum Day Rate Up to £845 ex VAT per day. Standard 8 hour working day, excludes expenses to base location which will be agreed with DWP. Travel expenses will be payable within DWP Policy to non-base locations This role is Inside IR35 Who Speclialist Work With The specialist will join an existing team of DWP Digital and Change Programme delivery managers, leading the end-to-end Delivery Integration and Assurance of the Technology Services (TS) products and services relating to the IT transition, systems integration and migration to the new services. The specialist will be working with the following key stakeholders: - TS Delivery Partners - TS Deputy Director - Deputy Directors & Programme Managers - Service Operations Design & Transition Managers - Workplace Engineers - Hybrid Cloud Services - Network Engineers - Service Operations Design, Transition and User Support - Delivery Managers - Third Party Providers What Specialists Work On The specialist will need to be an experienced IT delivery manager with a background of managing the transition to new IT environments. They will support multiple transformation programmes by providing a Technology Services (TS) Integration Delivery Plan across all of the TS deliverables, and any integration points between the programme and other business units. Plan to include: dependencies, caveats and assumptions associated with delivery; risk identification, review and mitigations; plan updates and escalation support to resolution. Production of a TS Assurance Report, working with Design and Transition Teams to help identify the Operational/Service Acceptance Criteria, provide updates and confirm evidence. Skills & Experience • Provide experience of working in a large scale organisation and/or Public Sector managing IT projects and successfully deploying hardware and software to internal and 3rd party organisations. • Demonstrate 5+ years as a senior IT project manager. • Demonstrate experience of successful delivery through suppliers. • Demonstrate experience of working as a part of a team and taking the lead where necessary. • Demonstrate experience of managing plans, risks, issues and dependencies with effective escalation where necessary, owning them until they are resolved. • Demonstrate experience of tracking and managing project progress, providing helpful and accurate reporting to senior leaders and/or governance boards. • Be able to actively manage change and governance for projects, taking all cross-project impacts into account. • Be able to communicate consistently across internal and external stakeholders, tailoring messages to ensure that it is right for the audience and consistent with broader project/digital messaging. • Demonstrate experience of delivering complex cloud solutions • Be able to identify and manage key integration points across complex delivery plans • Be able to identify Operational and Service Acceptance Criteria • Demonstrate experience of in Agile and Waterfall methodology and also the Hybrid Approach • Demonstrate strong understanding and experience of ITIL Work Location Primarily at the North West DWP Digital Corporate Hubs - St Peters Square, Manchester and Peel Park, Blackpool - although there may be a requirement to travel to other DWP locations. Working Arrangments Specialist will work 5 working days per week. At least 40% of their time is expected to be in a DWP North West hub office. There may be some travel required to other locations.
