Clean Air Zone Financial Assistance Scheme (call off from BANES framework)

Tender description

The Government has directed Sheffield City & Rotherham Councils along with many other local authorities to reduce levels of nitrogen dioxide ("NO2") in the air by 2023 at the latest and is providing the funds to achieve this objective. SCC is implementing a Class C Charging Clean Air Zone ("CAZ") which imposes charges for all higher emission vehicles, except private cars, driving in the centre of Sheffield from early 2023. As part of the CAZ implementation, the Council is providing support packages to businesses and individuals likely to be charged. One of the key parts of that support package is the CAZ Financial Assistance Scheme which will provide subsidised vehicle finance and pay out grants to eligible applicants. SCC has appointed a panel of Finance Providers via the Bath & North East Somerset Framework Agreement to administer the scheme on behalf of SCC.
