Passenger Transport - Supplier Engagement

The Council have appointed Stantec UK Ltd to support a full review of the school and local bus network within Dumfries and Galloway. To inform this review we are keen to have engagement with existing and potentially new operators for passenger transport, including buses, mini buses and taxis to inform the development and appraisal of options to meet the travel needs of the Dumfries and Galloway community and visitors to the region's. The revised network and longer term contracts are intended to provide an affordable, stable and sustainable model and input from potential suppliers is key to ensuring this is a success. Lot 1: This notice has been published to seek engagement from any operator who may be interested in providing passenger transport services within Dumfries and Galloway to inform a wider review of the local bus and school network across the region. This supplier engagement exercise runs alongside engagement with the community and visitors to the region to better understand their post covid travel needs. The Council are keen to encourage growth of the existing supply base either through business expansion of existing operators or encouraging new operators into the region. This is aimed at all road transport operators including taxis, mini bus and bus operators. A short survey is attached to this notice to get your views on key challenges and considerations.
