Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSE) in Partnership with Health Trust Europe (HTE) are releasing the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for minor works and maintenance, which is made up of a number of related categories to support the MSE NHS Foundation Trust and the wider public sector to meet their repairs, renewals, backlog maintenance requirements. Lot 1: Lot 1 Air Handling Units, Filters, Ventilation & Extraction Services Air Handling Unit AHU is a piece of equipment that handles, conditions, and circulates air in a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system (HVAC). Filters are located in these systems and require regular replacement. Ventilation is the process of allowing fresh air to get into a room or building. Air extraction remove moist or polluted air, typically from kitchens, bathrooms, theatres and wards to the outside. Lot 2: Lot 2 Air Monitoring Services Air monitoring means airborne asbestos fibre sampling that assesses exposures and the effectiveness of control measures. Air monitoring includes exposure, control, and clearance monitoring. Lot 3: Lot 3 Asbestos Removal/Treatment Services Asbestos removal is the process of eliminating the threat of asbestos exposure. This can be done by removing the asbestos from a structure or encapsulating it with a protective barrier. Lot 4: Lot 4 Brick and Blockwork Services Also known as modern masonry construction. Lot 5: Lot 5 Building (General) Services Various forms of construction from design, build, remodel, and repairs. Lot 6: Lot 6 Building (Hospital) Services Various forms of construction from design, build, remodel, and repairs in and around a hospital/health live environment. Lot 7: Lot 7 Building Management Systems and Automatic Control Systems Services Building Management Systems (BMS) which control and monitor security doors, automatic doors, ventilation, air handling and heating. Lot 8: Lot 8 Flooring & Wall Tiling Services Floor tiles, wall tiles, indoor or outdoor tiles and coordinating wall and floor tiles. Lot 9: Lot 9 Civil Engineering Civil Engineering is concerning with the design and maintenance of a building. Lot 10: Lot 10 Cladding & Insulation Services Cladding is a covering or coating on a structure or material. Insulation is material used in a building to reduce the flow of thermal energy. Lot 11: Lot 11 Cleaning and Site Clearance Services The process of cleaning rubble, or other materials from site before or after building works and to provision for builders clean in event of any enhancement works. Lot 12: Lot 12 Cooling and Refrigeration, Chillers Condensers and Split Air Conditioning Services To provide installation, proactive and reactive routine maintenance on commercial units. Must hold F-gas certification and maintain accurate records. Lot 13: Lot 13 Curtain and Blind Services Curtains and Blinds - Ward curtains purchase, repair, and replacement. Blinds purchase, repair, and replacement Lot 14: Lot 14 Demolition Work Services Partially knocking a building/structure down or totally destroying it. Lot 15: Lot 15 Doors and Windows Repair and Installation Services including Manual and Automatic Doors Providing installation, replacement and repair of all windows and doors. Automatic door is a door that opens automatically, without the need for human intervention or usually upon sensing the approach of a person. Must be FENSA (The Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme) approved installer. A FENSA certification is a document that says the installer of your windows and doors has carried out the works in order to comply with Building Regulations Lot 16: Lot 16 Accredited Fire Doors Services Must hold accreditations as follows, FIRAS (Fire Accreditation Scheme), IFC Certification (a UKAS accredited certification body), Trada Q Mark Fire Door Installation Scheme) and LPCB/BRE 1271 Lot 17: Lot 17 Drainage Services Drainage is a system or process by which water or other liquids are drained. This must include use of CCTV inspection and reporting and pumping services. Lot 18: Lot 18 NECIEC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) Electrical Installation and Maintenance Serv Electrical Installation is a term that refers to the installation, repair, alteration, and maintenance of electrical equipment and wiring for various purposes. Lot 19: Lot 19 NECIEC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) Emergency Lighting & Power Services Emergency Lighting is a lighting fixture with a battery pack that turns on automatically when a building experiences a power failure. Lot 20: Lot 20 Fencing and Gates Services Provide and maintain permanent fencing or gates as required. Lot 21: Lot 21 Groundworks Services Groundworks is the first set of activities involved on a construction site that leads to trenching or foundations being laid. Lot 22: Lot 22 General Flooring Services Flooring refers to the installation, repairs, and maintenance to all types of floor coverings. Lot 23: Lot 23 Glazing Services Furnishing or fitting with glass. Lot 24: Lot 24 Locksmiths Services Repair locks, install locks (including digital locks) and provide a key cutting service. Lot 25: Lot 25 Modular Buildings Services Hire of demountable buildings for long term, short term or purchase. Lot 26: Lot 26 Joinery and Partition Services Joinery is the wooden components of a building, such as stairs, doors and window frames, walls, and ceilings. Lot 27: Lot 27 Landscaping Services The process of making a garden or other piece of land more attractive by design, adding ornamental features and planting trees, flowers, or shrubs. Lot 28: Lot 28 Escalators and Conveyance Systems Services Escalator maintenance including checking safety features and devices, the general operation of the unit and the condition of all parts. Conveyance Systems is the action or process of transporting or carrying someone or something from one place to another. Lot 29: Lot 29 Painting and Decorating (General) Services Applying paint, varnish, wallpaper and other finishes and special coatings to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces. Lot 30: Lot 30 Plastering & Rendering Services Applying paint, varnish, wallpaper and other finishes and special coatings to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces. Lot 31: Lot 31 Plumbing Services The system of pipes, tanks, fittings, and other apparatus required for the water supply, heating, and sanitation in the building. Lot 32: Lot 32 Portable Appliance Testing & Fixed Wire Testing Services PAT testing is the inspection and examination of portable electrical machinery and equipment to determine if they are operating at maximum effectiveness and if they are safe to use. Fixed Wire Testing is the inspection of the wiring within a building that requires to be periodically tested and certified. Lot 33: Lot 33 Renewables Services A natural resource or source of energy that is not depleted by use, such as water, wind, or solar power and any future innovations. Lot 34: Lot 34 Road Maintenance (Minor Works) Services Roads and highways are travelled ways on which people, animals or wheeled vehicles move. Pothole repairs, tar laying, road markings. Lot 35: Lot 35 Roofing & Guttering Services Roofing is the top covering of a building including all materials and constructions necessary. Guttering is a factor of the entire roofing system which works to collect rainwater that runs off your roof, leading it to a connected downpipe and into a drainage system. Lot 36: Lot 36 Safety Equipment (incl. Fall Restraint/Arrest System) Services Refers to devices that either protect you from reaching areas where falls are likely or prevent you from hitting the surface after a fall. Lot 37: Lot 37 Scaffolding Services A temporary structure on the outside of a building, made of wooden planks and metal poles, used during building, repair and/or cleaning a building. Lot 40: Lot 40 Water Systems – Servicing, Legionella Testing, Thermostatic Mixing Valves, Water Hygiene & Associated Plant Services Legionella Testing is testing for bacteria that can cause Legionnaires Disease. The testing is completed through the hot and cold-water systems. Thermostatic Mixing Valves is a valve that blends hot water with cold water to ensure constant, safe shower and bath outlet temperatures, preventing scalding. It is a device that automatically controls the temperature and flow of water in a shower or sink. Water Hygiene to ensure safe drinking water and sanitation. Conduct Risk assessments and produce reports Lot 41: Lot 41 High Voltage and Switchgear Maintenance Services High Voltage allows for efficient power transmission over long distances while reducing energy loss due to resistance. Switchgear is composed of electrical disconnect switches, fuses or circuit breakers used to control, protect, and isolate electrical equipment. Lot 42: Lot 42 Low Voltage control systems and switch panel maintenance & installation services Low voltage systems, consisting of the combination of one or more protection or switching devices, with a control, measurement, signalling protection and regulation requirements Lot 43: Lot 43 General Lighting Services To replace the incandescent units or LED of a light fixture. Installation and maintenance of lighting fixtures. Lot 44: Lot 44 Refrigeration & Freezer Maintenance Services Refrigerator maintenance is the regular cleaning and checking of your refrigerators, cold rooms, and freezers to ensure that it is working properly. Must be F-Gas accredited. Lot 45: Lot 45 Nurse/Emergency Call Systems Services Nurse and emergency call systems. Provide information and facilitate efficient communication between staff, patients and systems that can enable patient care and improve clinical workflow. Lot 46: Lot 46 (CAFM) Computer Assisted Facilities Management by Information Technology Services Provision and maintenance of central software to ensure all aspects of facilities management can be controlled, reported, and measured to allow for smooth operational activity. Lot 47: Lot 47 Gas and Oil Boilers Services & associated Plant. Heating Plant installation and maintenance. A boiler is a closed vessel in which fluid is heated. The fluid does not necessarily boil. The heated or vaporised fluid exits the boiler for use in various processes or heating applications, including water heating, central heating, boiler-based power generation, cooking, and sanitation. Must have Gas Safe Accreditation for company and individuals. Lot 48: Lot 48 General Gas Appliances Services An appliance that uses natural gas, propane, hydrogen etc as its power source rather than electricity. Must have Gas Safe Accreditation for company and individuals. Lot 49: Lot 49 Steam Plant Services Is a plant designed to convert the heat from the combustion of a fuel into mechanical energy by means of steam. Lot 50: Lot 50 Air Compressors Services An air compressor is a machine that takes ambient air from the surroundings and discharges is at a higher pressure. Lot 51: Lot 51 Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Services Combined heat and power CHP is a highly efficient process that capture and utilises the heat that is a by-product of the electricity generation process. Lot 52: Lot 52 Bunded/ Bunkered Fuel Storage – Supply and Maintenance of the Tanks Services A bunded oil fuel tank is a tank within a tank. Fuel bunkers are containers for the storage of fuel. Lot 53: Lot 53 Lightning Protection Services A lightning protection test (LPT) involves all lightning conductors and earth grounding installations being visually inspected and tested by a qualified electrical engineer. Lot 54: Lot 54 Statutory Inspections Services Inspections required by law to ensure the safety of plant and machinery. Lot 55: Lot 55 Building Fabric Maintenance Services The process of managing any ongoing repairs and maintenance of a building’s structural features.r Lot 56: Lot 56 Ironmongery Services The provision of manufacture and repair/enhancement of items made from iron, steel, aluminium, brass, or other metals, including weld and fabrication repairs Lot 57: Lot 57 Barrier Control Maintenance Services Is about understanding what your critical controls are and assessing and monitoring their status in daily operation. Lot 58: Lot 58 Signage Services To design and supply signage. Exterior, interior, wayfinding, and event signage. Lot 59: Lot 59 Furniture Management Services Including design, product sale, installation and project management of client’s furnishings and modular interiors. Development and co-ordination of reconfiguration/relocation plans and schedules. Installation, moving, disassembly and/or assembly of furniture and furnishings. Verification of critical field dimensions before installation Temporary and long-term warehousing for furniture and furnishings, ensuring proper accountability of items in storage Lot 60: Lot 60 Removal Services General Removal Services for office/domestic relocations. Includes the removal and relocation of archived medical records and equipment. Lot 61: Lot 61 Energy Management/BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) Services Energy management is the process of monitoring, controlling and conserving energy in a building or an organisation. BREEAM is an established method of assessing, rating, and certifying the sustainability of buildings. Lot 62: Lot 62 Catering Equipment Maintenance Services Commercial Appliance and Equipment used in the food service industry. Lot 63: Lot 63 Cable Management System Services Cable management encompasses the organisation, routing, and protection of wiring systems across a range on installation types. Practical for use in both domestic and commercial environments, utilising sufficient equipment to manage wiring to ensure an orderly, uncluttered cabling route. Lot 64: Lot 64 Temporary fencing (Heras), chapter 8, and temporary road management systems. Provision of temporary fencing and barriers to accommodate scheduled works to be carried out safely. Lot 65: Lot 65 Tree Surveys Assessment/survey of trees so that the Authority can make informed decisions. Lot 66: Lot 66 Tree services Services provided for trees, including planting, removal, topping, pruning, or engaging in Arbor cultural practices Lot 67: Lot 67 Pneumatic Air tube Installation and Maintenance Service Provision and maintenance of internal systems to transport small items and documents from one point to another Lot 68: Lot 68 UPS/IPS installation, maintenance, and service Provision and maintenance of internal systems to transport small items and documents from one point to another Lot 69: Lot 69 Gritting and Snow Clearing Services Gritting and snow clearance of pathway, carparks, and roadways to include provision of grit/salt Lot 70: Lot 70 Reverse Osmosis System Installation, Preventative and Reactive Maintenance Reverse Osmosis is a water purification process utilising semi permeable membrane to separate water molecules from other substances Lot 71: Lot 71 Pest control and Guano cleaning services The process of managing and preventing pest such us (but not exhaustive) insects, rodents, birds, and other animals, using a variety of methods including traps, barriers, chemical methods, hawking, netting, and pesticides Guano is the excrement of seabirds and bats. Lot 72: Lot 72 Pump Reconditioning and Motor Rewinding Services Reconditioning is rebuilding from brand new parts to function as new. A motor rewind means that a coil is rewound and reinstalled for the necessary armatures or other components. The goal is to get the motor back to functioning at its optimal level. Lot 73: Lot 73 Window Cleaning Services, including Tower-block and High reaching windows The internal and external cleaning of glass used for structural, lighting, visual or decorative purpose. Lot 74: Lot 74 Plant Hire Services. Ability to hire equipment and machinery on a temporary basis to facilitate short-term projects. Lot 75: Lot 75 Container Hire Services (including refrigerated). A container with strength and durability to withstand shipment, storage, and handling. Usually of steel construction. Refrigerated means ability to store goods within at cold and sub-zero temperatures in a controlled environment Lot 76: Lot 76 Authorising Engineer Services Chartered engineer appointed by healthcare organisation or NHS Trust to provide advice and assess compliance with Health Technical Memoranda and Service and Facilities Group 20. Lot 77: Lot 77 Bed Pan Washers and Macerators Services Wash and disinfect reusage human waste containers. Mechanism to break down human waste to allow pumping to an external waste pipe. Lot 78: Lot 78 Water Pressurisation Services Water and waste pump/pressure vessels management Lot 79: Lot 79 Dishwasher supply, service, and maintenance Supply, service, and maintenance of commercial dishwashers.
