Tender description
The works comprise: i. Killinarden Park upgrade, total site area approx. 20ha; and ii. Green Infrastructure Corridor with landscaped pedestrian/cycle routes between Killinarden Park and Sean Walsh Park, total site area approx. 4.50ha. The works include: • Strategic walk/cycleway to north side of park, along Whitestown Stream; enhanced entrances, including new improved road crossings at Whitestown Way to the north-east; feature areas at primary and secondary accesses, for gathering, seating and orientation; a fully accessible Primary Oval footpath and walking/exercise circuit 1km in length; existing secondary footpath network retained and resurfaced where required. • Replacement and refurbished park perimeter walls/railings where required; retention of existing private walls/railings. • Linear play trails along main walkways, with natural play equipment, sculptures and informal seating; two natural play areas located around the Primary Oval, with nearby seating/social areas; a Multi-use Games Area and Skateramp, with teenager social space. • Upgrade of existing grass sports pitches, including re-levelling, drainage and re-seeding. • Biodiversity and landscape improvements, including a community orchard to north of park; informal tree groups; semi-mature Signature Trees around the Primary Oval; and retention of existing tree groups and scrub where shown. • Installation of CCTV Cameras for monitoring by An Garda Siochána and South Dublin County Council • All ancillary works.
