Tender description

The refurbished and new build works will comprise of specific classroom and specialist room areas with some shared spaces as well as specific associated areas in the form Hydrotherapy and trampoline rooms along with, offices, meeting rooms and break out spaces. Toilets including accessible WC, stores, and change facilities are also to be provided. The Classrooms and academic accommodation are accommodated over the ground floor. Horizontal circulation is by way of central spines in both existing and new build areas. Provision of ancillary services such as IT, cleaning and WCs to serve the new school are accommodated within the block. New play areas one of which doubles up as a drop off area along with new car parking is also an integral part of the scheme. Lengths of new retaining wall will also be required in various areas. The current level of security for the school will be maintained during and after construction has been completed. The designated construction area will be such that the schools current level of security can be maintained. External works include: - - New carpark area and mini bus drop off area. - New play area. - Civil engineering works. - Removal of existing line markings and laying of new. - Creation of a new external hard & soft landscape areas. - Demolition of existing large serviced external brick store on northern boundary and cutting off existing services to building. This proposal is to provide within the SEN unit various specialist facilities for children with specific learning needs. It is intended that this will be achieved through the refurbishment of the existing southern wing and hall area with minimal intervention to a small number of adjacent spaces.
