Carlisle Station Gateway - Stage 2 Construction

Tender description

Working with Network Rail and Avanti West Coast ,Cumberland Council ("the Authority") sought to appoint a contractor to develop designs, gain necessary consents and approvals and undertake the construction of a package of external improvement works as part of the redevelopment of Carlisle Station. Specifically, the work package encompasses: • Demolition of Staples retail unit (and making good external face of retained Matalan retail unit encompassing any required strengthening / cladding works) • Provision of new car park within area of demolished Staples unit. • Replacement bus turning/pick-up + drop-off areas (part of wider development proposals) • Station Southern Gateway (George Square public realm) • Demolition of Matalan retail unit (as optional works, subject to agreement with existing tenant)\r \r This is the award of the second stage of the contract for the demolition of Staples retail unit (and making good external face of retained Matalan retail unit encompassing any required strengthening / cladding works)
