How often research will happen 36 user research sessions per year Research location User research sessions shall take place either in-person or remotely, as stipulated by the Buyer, the majority being conducted remotely. Remote user research sessions shall be conducted using video chat. Accepted platforms are Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or Skype Description of your participants There are 2 different sets of requirements for participants: Standard Profile and Special Profile. A Standard Profile participant shall have the following requirements: Range of ages between 18 and 70 years; Mix of genders; Mix of ethnicity; Mix of national identity; Variety of socio-economic backgrounds; Variety of employment status (for example, volunteer, unemployed, employed, student, self-employed, retired); Variety of employment sectors (for example, education, healthcare, construction, local government, transport, finance, hospitality, entertainment, third sector); Mix of digital skills; Users of different technologies. This could be desktop PC, laptop, tablet or mobile phone; Mix of accessibility needs. This shall include, but not be limited to: -People with a disability. This could be visual, hearing, motor (affecting fine movement), cognitive (affecting memory and thinking) or neurodiverse.This could be diagnosed or self-diagnosed; Users of assistive technology, including screen magnifiers, screen readers and speech recognition tools. A Special Profile Participant would have one or more of the following additional requirements to a Standard Profile Participant: Aged 16-18 years; Over the age of 70 years; Welsh or Irish Gaelic speaker; Participant has previously applied for a DBS Check (Basic, Standard or Enhanced Check) and/or used another DBS service (for example, Update Service). The objective of the advert is to procure participants for regular user research days for services being developed by DBS. Where the research will take place North West England Who the organisation using the products or services is Disclosure and Barring Service Number of research rounds The Buyer anticipates the Supplier shall conduct 36 user research sessions per year, each with a minimum of 5 participants. User research sessions shall typically be no longer than 60 minutes, though the actual time of each session may vary. There may be a requirement for longer sessions, but this would be by exception. Number of participants per round Of the 36 user research sessions per year, up to 16 user research sessions shall be Special Profile Participants. The remaining balance of user research sessions shall be the Standard Profile Participants. Research dates February 2024 to February 2026 with an option to extend for a further 12 months
