Tender description

The HSE are developing Rapid Build Surgical Hubs to support a reduction in waiting lists. The Surgical Hubs are required to be complete and operational as soon as possible. The Contracting Authority requires the works to be delivered through Rapid Build Solutions incorporating Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). Three locations are highlighted where these Surgical Hubs are proposed to be built, based upon the HSE needs, the locations are: • Cork University Hospital • University Hospital Waterford • University Hospital Limerick The Surgical Hubs will range in size between 5,800 sq.m to 6,000 sq.m Gross Floor Area and will include the following core support areas: • 4 Nr Operating Theatres (2 Nr Operating Theatres will be finished to shell and core) (including Anaesthetic, Prep and Dirty Utility Rooms) and all associated Theatre Department support and storage areas. • 2 Nr Procedure Rooms • Post operative recovery (9 beds) Stage 1 • Post operative recovery Stage 2 (including walkthrough procedures) • Consultant exam rooms • Main reception and waiting • Staff facilities • Public / Patient toilet facilities and changing facilities • Discharge lounge • Coffee shop The current Integrated Design Team (IDT) will be novated to the Works Contractor at the end of Stage (iii).
