United Utilities’ (UU) AMP8 and AMP9 programmes represent a significant leap in the company’s long-term strategic planning and investment in water and wastewater infrastructure across the North West of England. Scheduled to fully commence in April 2025, the AMP8 period will extend until March 2030, followed by the AMP9 period. The AMP8 capital programme is notable for its scale and ambition, with an indicative value of approximately £7billion, indicating a substantial increase in investment over previous Asset Management Periods (AMPs). This extensive capital programme reflects UU’s commitment to improving and expanding its services, including the enhancement of water supply, wastewater treatment, and environmental sustainability initiatives. The company’s proactive approach in seeking partnerships and engaging in early procurement initiatives highlights its dedication to comprehensive planning and the effective implementation of these ambitious projects. Lot 1: As part of our Phase Two procurement plan for AMP8, UU are seeking contractors to deliver our Minor Works projects, to compliment the Build Only delivery route. The Minor Works contractors will predominantly deliver civil engineering projects with indicative values within the range of £50k to £1.75m, with approximately 200 projects to be delivered in AMP8. Projects types may include, but are not limited to, construction works on: combined sewer overflow chambers, boreholes, septic tanks, dosing rig plinths, access roads, fish passages and WINEP habitats. UU are looking to inform their strategy for this procurement and are looking for potentially interest suppliers to complete the attached survey to help inform that thinking.
