Tender description

The Irish Historic Towns Atlas (IHTA) is a research project of the Royal Irish Academy (RIA) that publishes large-format loose leaf ‘fascicles’. Each fascicle is composed of a text booklet, followed by a series of loose-leaf pages for maps and plates, all enclosed in a cover folder. The idea is that the user can consult the loose maps while reading the text; and can compare the various maps by laying them out alongside one another. To see samples from previous atlas fascicles, go to the IHTA online section of www.ihta.ie where there are downloadable pdf files of text sections, loose sheets and covers. The IHTA are currently in production with no. 31 Cork which is bigger than any fascicle produced to date. With a text booklet of approx. 200 pp (300 x 380 mm), this atlas will be significantly larger than we have had before.
