OPW Arterial Drainage Maintenance Environmental Services Contract 2024: Corrib and other Schemes

Tender description

The Office of Public Works (OPW), Arterial Drainage Maintenance Service is commissioning an environmental consultant to assist with various environmental services, to support arterial drainage maintenance activities on thirteen arterial drainage schemes. Part 1 The principal study area for Part 1 of the Commission makes up nine schemes for arterial drainage schemes and flood relief schemes. The contract will require the completion of AA Screening for 9 Schemes and it is assumed that 6 of these schemes will require an NIS. Reporting is to be completed over the 2024 year period. The AA Screening Reports and NIS for the thirteen schemes are as follows: AA Screening only: Ouvane, duleek, Owenavorragh AA Screening and NIS: Ballyteigue/Kilmore, Corrib, Duff, Inny, Kilcoo, Kilimor/Cappagh. Completion of the AA Screening and NIS's for each scheme includes assessing the impact of the work and providing field data as described in Part 2 below. Part 2 The OPW have identified lengths of channel that require a Rapid River Corridor Survey to be completed. The lengths of channels identified are the channels within and 100m upstream and downstream of the boundary of the European Sites for which AA Screening and NIS is programmed for in that year. The Rapid River Corridor Survey is required on approximately 460km of channel to be carried out. Part 3 Further to the above the consultant may be asked to carry out further surveys within the contract year period that has not yet been identified. These surveys may include site specific AA Screenings and NIS reports that are outside the scope of Part 1 of this tender. Part 3 may also include site specific species/habitat surveys not currently identified as needed. It is expected that all environmental services will be completed by end of 2024
