T2458 Collection and Treatment of Mattresses

Tender description

The Council invites Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced economic operators 'Bidders' for the collection and treatment of mattresses from household recycling centres (HRC's) for the purpose of separation and distribution to treatment facilities and reprocessing centres for recycling and where appropriate energy recovery with landfill as a last resort. A single bidder may appointed. Lot 1: This Contract is for the collection, treatment of mattresses from household recycling centres and waste transfer stations. There are approximately 7,500 mattresses per annum deposited at the Household Recycling Centres each year. When mattresses are brought to Household Recycling Centres (HRC’s) they are screened by site staff. Those suitable for processing are stored in closed containers to protect the mattresses from deterioration. Mattresses received vary in size and condition.
