Argyll & Bute Council intends to initiate a procurement process for the provision of School & Local transport. This notice serves as an early announcement to inform potential suppliers about the upcoming tender opportunity. Lot 1: Argyll & Bute Council intends to initiate a procurement process to appoint a transport operator to provide safe and secure school transport in the Helensburgh and Lomond areas. AIMS OF THE SERVICE The main elements of the School Transport Service are: (a)To transport children to and from school safely and timeously; (b)To encourage responsible behaviour by scholars; (c)To liaise with Head Teachers or nominated representatives and Council Officers to achieve a high standard of service. CONTRACT DURATION The contract duration will be for a period of 5 years from March 2024 with an option to extend for up to a further 2 years, subject to satisfactory performance of the contract. PROCUREMENT PROCEDURE We intend to conduct a competitive open procurement procedure via PCS with all additional documents, e.g. Route Specifications, made available in the subsequent invitation to tender. PARTICIPATION Interested parties are invited to express their interest in participating in the forth-coming tender process. This PIN is not a formal invitation to tender but serves as an early announcement for the market and to gauge the market interest in the upcoming procedure.
