DGM/2042 Procurement of Cartridge Limpet Mine Disposal Equipment (CLMDE) RFI

Tender description

Request for Information (RFI): The Authority is looking to procure the following: The user requires a Cartridge LMDE (N12 MK1) for use with the current in-service LMDE system to allow Military divers to continue to carry out underwater disruption of limpet mines. The Limpet Mine Disposal Equipment (LMDE) is used for the disposal of thin cased limpet mines. The LMDE is essentially an injector EOD L2A1 (barrel) mounted in a stand, which is attached to the hull of a vessel in close proximity to the mine using either integral magnets or purpose made lashings. The injector is filled with water so that when the cartridge is fired a high velocity jet is projected at the mine's firing mechanism or anti-removal device. The cartridge is fired electrically from a remote firing position. The current Cartridge LMDE N12 MK 1, is an aluminium alloy drawn tube 26.6mm diameter x 57 mm long. The cartridge contained 12g (Ballistite B16) or 9.5g (NPP 30) propellent.
