Tender description

Dismantling and rebuilding of damaged parapet, spandrel wall, training wall and associated carriageway works. The Contractor is required to: - Provide, erect, maintain and remove temporary welfare facilities. - Take suitable measures to prevent contamination of the watercourse in accordance with SEPA General Binding Rules. - Remove the existing carriageway surfacing and fill material over the bridge from the base of the upstream parapet to the centre of the carriageway. This is to be undertaken along the length of parapet needing repaired. - Take down and rebuild damaged parts of the upstream parapet, upstream spandrel wall and wingwall. This will involve reclaiming fallen masonry from the Dorback Burn and reusing the existing stone units supplemented with imported units to match existing (if necessary). - Rake out and repoint areas of the parapet, spandrel wall and wingwall. - Install a partial new carriageway over the bridge if required. - Resurface the carriageway if required. - Install road markings.
