Wiltshire Council are inviting tenders from tenderers to provide a service to our Children and Young People (CYP) with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND. The overarching purpose of the service is to provide Children and Young People (CYP) with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) with opportunities to take part in social and educational and leisure activities outside their home. These opportunities will be independent of the parents and carers of the CYP with SEND which will also provide them with a break. Wiltshire is a large and rural county and services need to offer provision to a large geographical area. Transport links continue to develop and improve but travelling around Wiltshire continues to pose a challenge to the community. Wiltshire SEND and Inclusion Strategy 2020 – 2023 has a vision for ‘all children and young people with SEND and their families to have a voice that is heard. They will know how to access, and be able to access, the joined-up support they need to thrive in their communities, enjoy life and reach their full potential’. The six priority areas for the strategy are: • Developing holistic plans with Children and Young People • Inclusion and removing exclusion in Education. • Inclusion and well-being in the community • Improving the range and quality of provision • Achievement and progress • Well planned transitions Wiltshire currently has 15,551 children and young people (0-25) with Special Educational Needs (SEND). The number of children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as a primary diagnosis is the biggest area of need. Keywords: SEND, CYP, Holiday, Activities
