Award of ITMC - WAN and LAN Extreme Network Partner

Tender description

The Council’s estate currently has over 4,300 Aerohive wireless access points (WAPs) and 820 switches, across over 340 individual sites. This equipment is mostly due to go end-of-life in October 2025. The Council has recently chosen Extreme Networks as our manufacturer of choice for Network Switches and WAPs, following an ITMC in late 2022. That ITMC included a central network admin console (NAC) handling scalable management and authentication for the equipment in that (and for this) procurement, and subsequently will expand and extend our new Wi-Fi Solution, with a significant increase in the number of devices relying on the service. The network will support agile, mobility driven, modernisation opportunities within the digital transformation and cloud innovation workstreams. The proposed equipment must be fully compatible with the existing NAC solution.
