WP3753 - Cafeteria Concession Opportunity at Walsall Arboretum Visitor Centre - AWARD

Tender description

1.1 Walsall Council wishes to procure a good quality Concession operator, to staff and run the Arboretum Visitor Centre's Cafeteria. 1.2 The Arboretum is Walsall's premier park and Walsall Council is committed to providing a high quality catering choice to park users, residents of Walsall and visitors to the town. The type, range and choice of food offer is increasingly becoming a factor in the way visitor attraction sites are judged and is now seen as part of the overall visitor experience. The Council have the following objectives for the Cafeteria at the Arboretum: (a) To provide high quality refreshments, meals, drinks and snacks to a standard that will meet the needs of different user groups* and encourage and stimulate further demand, (b) To market and promote the Cafeteria and seek continual improvement in catering provision to all customers, in order to retain existing clientele and attract new customers (c) To generate a reasonable income for Walsall Council to re-invest in services for the residents of Walsall. *User Groups include 'one off' visitors to the park; regular park users; event attendees (Park Runners); party hosts; business function hosts and meeting hosts. 1.3 It is envisaged that the contract will commence on the 5th of November 2021 for a period of 3 (three) years until the 4th of November 2024, with the Council having the option to unilaterally extend the contract for a further 2 (two) periods of up to 12 months each. 1.4 The Council is looking to appoint one Concession Operator for this Contract. 1.5 The procurement process being used is an Open process.
