Tender description

Tenders are invited for the provision of Principal Contractor for the refurbishment and extension of the Visitors Centre in Callanish, Isle of Lewis. This work will be carried out in line with design provided by the Trust's Design Team. Key deliverables include; - Construction – RIBA 5 - Handover and Close Out – RIBA 6 - In Use – RIBA 7. The points below should inform you as to the aspirations of the Trust in terms of what the tender process is intended to do; - Provide the Trust with a suitably qualified Principal Contractor who can deliver the construction phase according to the project’s objectives. - Demonstrate the ability to manage health and safety on site responsibly. - Demonstrate quality & value for money. - Ensure that the successful tenderer is a member of trade associations and has staff with relevant qualifications. - Demonstrate an understanding of the need for low running costs and energy efficiency. - Demonstrate an understanding of the needs of the end user (UnT employees, members of the community, visitors and tourists).
