Supply and Delivery of complete fishplated rail joint upgrade kits. Traditional nylon insert nuts on fishplated joints are known to loosen over time and require ongoing inspection and maintenance. The mandatory application of grease at fishplated joints may expedite this loosening process. Any resultant loss of clamp force reduces the fishplate joint strength and increases the likelihood of the fishplate cracking. Irish Rail is seeking information on the market availability of potential solutions which reduce the ongoing maintenance requirement in the form of an upgrade kit which will as a minimum comprise the following elements: • Fishbolts 1” x 6.25” (or metric equivalent GR8.8) and a compatible re-useable GR8 all-metal jam locknut • Any cleaning agents required • Any tools required • Grease free lubrication system • Joint tagging system Supply and Delivery of complete fishplated rail joint upgrade kits.
