Tender description

RFT for Bridge Devegetation Contract 2023 for Cavan County Council. This contract is for the comprehensive vegetation removal of 27 structures within County Cavan to facilitate the detailed design for each bridge rehabilitation scheme. The bridges vary in size and vary in vegetation cover from moderately covered to heavily vegetated. Location plans of the bridges to be devegetated have been provided. Candidates are strongly recommended to visit the structures in advance of submitting their tender to fully gauge the scope of work. The work will involve the removal of trees, bushes, ivy, grasses, briars and any other vegetative matter from the banks, spandrels, wingwalls, voussoirs, parapets (both sides), piers, soffit/arch barrel coping/capping of the listed bridges so that the elements of the bridge are clear of vegetation and can be clearly viewed for inspection to scope a detailed design. The work will also include clearing 10 metres both upstream and downstream of each structure. Works will be at Various Locations in County Cavan.
