Media Monitoring

Tender description

Scope of monitoring HCC wishes to procure a service which will monitor coverage of HCC and its activities, the key brands (Welsh Lamb, Welsh Beef, Pork from Wales) and Welsh red meat in general, and wider industry news, as well as provide data to help us benchmark and measure the coverage we get year-on-year. Nature of monitoring required The tender encompasses both coverage of key issues in major mass media in order to respond to issues as they arise in such fields as food and farming, the environment, health and public policy in relation to red meat, and monitoring of HCC’s media output, which can be in print, digital and broadcast media as well as quite specialist publications/weekly newspapers. Coverage of Welsh language media to an equal standard to that of English language media will be essential, as would coverage of items that appear in print only, for instance in regional weekly newspapers. HCC has found in the recent past that some fully automated media monitoring services do not provide a sufficiently comprehensive service in this regard. HCC would consider dividing this tender in two if different companies can provide solutions for these needs, however a comprehensive solution is preferred. Regular outputs required We would wish to receive a daily email bulletin outlining coverage in media detailed above, which would include links to digital/online sources, PDFs of print coverage and links to broadcast coverage. HCC would also require on occasion an alert / breaking news service that would inform as to major news developments that could have a major impact.
