Tender description

The National Library of Scotland (“the Library”) is planning a procurement exercise for a box making machine that will be able to crease and cut bespoke enclosure designs. At this point the Library is seeking feedback from the industry to determine best practice in providing the appropriate product to deliver on the Library’s requirements. The Library requires to demonstrate not only commercial “Best Value”, but also acknowledge the importance for structured, open and positive working relationships that will deliver a positive experience for all involved. The Library has bought its first box making machine in 1996. Since then, the Library purchased a further box making machine in 2003 and a die-cutter in 2009, to keep up with the demand that is required. It is anticipated that a new box making machine will be required to replace one of our older models by the beginning of 2024 and will run for several years.
