Creative Producer - Creu Conwy Destination Signage

Conwy County Borough Council are inviting tenders from suitably experienced individuals and organisations to develop and deliver (from concept to installation) a scheme of impactful creative destination signage across the county of Conwy. These installations will become destinations in their own right and contribute to cultural regeneration and sense of place in each area. This project is a unique opportunity and the specification is intentionally open to allow for creative artist and community led interpretation and ideas. The Destination Signage concepts will be developed by an artist working closely with communities. These concepts will then directly inform the development of the final installations. The installations whilst fun, playful and unique will need to be sympathetic to surroundings, durable, long-lasting and appropriate for the location. The content will consist of Welsh words, short idioms / phrases, motifs and environmental themes that are locally resonant. We’d like the installations to make people think, smile, want to take a picture, share with friends, feel sense of local pride and want to visit. This work is funded through Welsh Government’s Brilliant Basics scheme. We are open to collaborative consortia submissions for this contract.
