Cornwall Council is seeking to appoint a footfall data specialist to monitor and evaluate footfall in Newquay town centre from October 2023 – March 2025. Experience Newquay is looking to extend the visitor season and grow visitor numbers during the traditionally quieter season (Oct-Mar). The project team has developed an evaluation plan with a mix of data collection methods, including footfall and movement data analysis to report against its funding targets. Experience Newquay is looking to appoint a footfall data specialist to understand the number of people visiting Newquay’s town centre throughout the project period as well as their movement patterns, dwell times and visitor place of origin. The project is looking to have comparable data between low seasons (Oct-Mar) and peak seasons (Apr- Sept) to help monitor the key indicators and inform future direction and policy. The supplier will also be required to provide historical footfall data for previous seasons (from at least four years ago) to enable the project to set a baseline to compare against.
