Tender description
Heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) are especially susceptible to road collision statistics. Figures from 2021 indicate that there was a total of 11 fatal collisions involving HGVs and people walking or cycling in London. Of these, six fatal collisions occurred where vision was cited as a contributing factor. Driver training is essential in increasing awareness of vulnerable road users in the borough. We wish to fund a series of 8 Safer Urban Driving (SUD) courses for fleet drivers as we aim to continuously improve road safety within the borough. The training must be Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) approved, allowing for riders to register for FORS accreditation and will be able to contribute towards the required 35 hours training to maintain Driver CPC.
