Tender description

The City of Wolverhampton Council (the Council) is regenerating the city centre with an ambitious new Box Space development on the Bell Street site, which includes a new venue for leisure, hospitality, retail, and entertainment, as well as a public car parking facility. The scheme involves creating distinct public spaces using stacked shipping containers, alongside landscaped plazas and terraces for socialising. This project forms part of the Council’s wider Future High Street Fund initiative, alongside wider city centre regeneration activities and sits adjacent to the improvements made to Victoria Street. The Box Space facility, is programmed to open in summer 2024 and is expected to offer a complimentary venue to the City's many wider attractions and help drive footfall and activity into the west side of the City Centre. It is anticipated that the Council will formally determine, at the beginning of September 2023, to seek bids from operator’s for the opportunity to operate the facility, publishing the tender in mid/late September, which is likely to provide interested operators a 6 week response period. The Council hereby invites expressions of interest from: owners/operators/managers of event/hospitality/retail/leisure mixed use schemes/venues. Please note, parties who previously registered interest in November/December 2022 in response to the Council’s preliminary market testing process are not required to register here again to continue to participate.
