Stop and Search Advocacy project

Tender description

The Council is looking for a local supplier who can deliver our Stop & Search advocacy project. This will support young people in educating and raising awareness of the rights in relation to stop and search. What to do, how to behave and how to make a complaint. They will be working in schools and the community, Creating and distributing promotional materials. In addition they will work alongside the council’s Youth Independent Advisory Group (YIAG) providing training to newly recruited police officers and other professionals. To raise awareness of young people’s experience, appropriate use of stop & search, adolescent development theory and racial disparity. The supplier will work closely with police and community to provide input to the Met’s local police encounter panel. Assisting with promoting experience of young people and advocating on their behalf where appropriate. They will have a good knowledge of local police, community groups, voluntary sector, schools, stakeholders, council services and commissioned providers.
