ABBEY LANE PRIMARY ROOF PLANK REPLACEMENT

Tender description

The project involves the removal of reinforced aerated autoclaved concrete (RAAC) roof planks and the construction of new timber flat roof structures above a classroom and kitchen. To enable the works existing services and mechanical plant will need to be isolated and removed before being relocated. The Contractor shall liaise with a specialist supplier to design and install a temporary classroom and kitchen building which will be on site for the duration of the works. A temporary walkway will be constructed adjacent the existing kitchen to allow the safe movement of school children and staff. As this structure will also act as crash deck it shall be Contractor designed. A defective stone boundary wall will be repaired. The works will be split into 2 sections. Section 1 being the installation of the temporary kitchen and classroom, construction of the temporary covered walkway and boundary wall remedial works.
