About adding context and requirements test Pre-market engagement Webinars were held on the 25th and 26th June. An overall summary of the digital activity that is catalogued was provided to attendees. A Q&A was also conducted an a summary of the questions recorded and answers are attached. Work done so far N/A Which phase the project is in Not started Existing team There is a civil service team of product and deliver managers that will manage oversee the development / multi-disciplinary team provided by the supplier. York Working arrangements The supplier will work to traditional full time working hours unless agreed otherwise. There is a hybrid working model in place and some office attendance will be required. The discovery will depend on the specific objective of the project. It could be a discovery into current service or asset and how to upgrade it or scoping and defining an entirely new digital service. As a general rule discoveries will follow the GDS guide ‘How the Discovery Phase Works' and could take between 4-8 weeks to complete ideally. The goal of each discovery will be set out in a project engagement letter which will be issued to the supplier. This will define the problem and set the scope / terms of reference for the discovery, timeframes and specific performance measures. Each discovery will need to factor in and take account of; Accessibility requirements and relevant standards Legislation Existing contractual commitments Legacy technology Existing processes and systems Define potential benefits and risks The supplier will be responsible for coordinating activities such user research activity, user testing and data analysis. The scope of the project may also include developing prototypes or proof-of-concepts solutions to test new ideas or hypotheses. This may involve using design tools and methodologies, such as wireframing, user journey mapping and iterative testing. Discoveries will be conducted against a wide ranging technology stack. The supplier will need to demonstrate experience in delivering solutions on cloud based platforms such Salesforce, AWS, Azure and legacy systems. They will also need to demonstrate experience in the development of analytical tools using software products such as Power Bi and Tableau and other lowcode products. To complete this the supplier will need to have the ability to deploy a full multi-disciplinary team. This will include capabilities across the following; It is not expected that each discovery will draw on every capability. The decision making process will include consideration of whether: there’s a viable service that could be build that would make it easier for users to do the thing they need to do it is cost effective to pursue the solution - this means weighing up how much it would cost against how much of an improvement you think you could make. The supplier will be responsible for presenting discovery findings to the business unit for decision. The supplier can also expect to provide regular progress updates via daily standups, sprint planning sessions and reviews. The supplier may also be required to take the initiative through an Alpha Assessment. Suppliers will be asked to run discoveries into ideas for new digital and data services or enhance existing ones. All work to be carried out in line with the Government Digital Service Standard. The business problem you need to solve GCG is looking to improve data quality and collection - through the automation of manual processes. Replace more time consuming tasks such as populating spreadsheets and bring in more dynamic digital services and data visualisation tools.
