Tender description

Flintshire County Council has secured funding to improve pond / scrape habitats on the doorstep of the communities of Flintshire from the Welsh Government’s Local Places for Nature Fund. Ponds are a priority biodiversity habitat in Flintshire that support more species, and more rare species, than most river habitats, making them important features for wildlife and stepping stones between other freshwater habitats. We are seeking a contractor that has knowledge of pond management and creation and working on designated sites to create new ponds, re-profile some existing ponds, habitat management specifically for natterjack toads and some fencing work. The project incorporates 7 different sites.
