Nestrans is looking to engage the market in terms of solutions to travelling where public transport is not available or unsuitable. Nestrans is looking for innovative input from suppliers with experience and expertise in car sharing/journey sharing to enable Nestrans to implement a solution to allow people to travel to work, education, leisure or an appointment particularly in rural areas or outwith the hours of public transport for the benefit of communities in Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen. Nestrans are looking for a service that will allow people to match journeys so they can travel together (car share/car pool) either as a passenger or driver. This service should allow people who live outwith areas served by public transport or require to travel when public transport is not available in a more sustainable way than a single occupancy car driver. This could include, mobile applications, online platforms and customer support. Nestrans are looking for suppliers of car sharing/journey sharing/car pooling, to help allow people who live, work, attend education or attend appointments in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to travel in a sustainable manner without having to rely on owning a private car. This is particularly important for areas of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire which have limited public transport services or require to travel at times outwith of public transport timetables. We are seeking a reliable, innovative service provider that can help people in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to travel where they need to go, when they need to go, in a safe, efficient, low cost and sustainable way to provide a convenient mobility option.
