Hinkley Point B Decommissioning Waste Processing Facility Design and Build

Tender description

The design and build of a Decommissioning Waste Processing Facility (DWPF) is a key requirement to support pre-Care and Maintenance (C&M) decommissioning and waste management activities within Hinkley Point B's Baseline Decommissioning Plan. The DWPF is required to process the significant quantities of Low Level Waste (LLW) arising from the initial phase of decommissioning prior to the site entering an acquiescent state (Care and Maintenance). Lot 1: EDF wishes to carry out pre-market engagement with potential tenderers to investigate the current market capability to design and build the Decommissioning Waste Processing Facility (DWPF) at Hinkley Point B power station in Somerset. This may inform EDF in the finalisation of the tender documentation, ensure that the requirements are effectively met and delivered in a procurement that meets market capabilities and requirements. It also provides procurement awareness for suppliers regarding this requirement.
