Condition Survey of Schools and Colleges in Wales and Route Map to NZC

Tender description

To provide a baseline assessment of the condition of the education estate in Wales and to develop a Net Zero Carbon route map and improvement plan for each asset to assist in the 2030 and 2050 Welsh Government decarbonisation targets. The Education Directorate through the Sustainable Communities for Learning Team (Previously 21st Century Schools and Colleges) wish to commission a survey of all state funded schools and further education colleges to establish a Net Zero Carbon route map for the education estate. The commission will include site surveys to assess elemental condition, performance and lifespan, to form a high-level investment grade proposal on a building-by-building level on how to achieve a phased (elemental), value for money low carbon solution in line with PAS 2038 requirements. An assessment of carbon saved and how close to Net Zero any proposal can be made maintaining value for money will be required.
