Lifelong Learning at Sheffield City Council has created an umbrella brand for a series of projects and initiatives that help to bring educators and employers together to raise careers awareness to young people in Sheffield. This umbrella brand is ‘See It Be It in Sheffield’. The three key audiences for our work are: Employers – we recruit volunteers from businesses across Sheffield to go into schools, taking part in different careers related activities. Schools and Colleges – we support schools and colleges with their careers education strategies and broker the employer volunteer activities in schools Whilst the ultimate beneficiary of this work is young people, they are not our natural target audience as we mostly create resources or projects that professionals in education can then use in their own settings. The intent of this commission is to request support from a communication specialist who can help us: Improve our brand presentation and marketing mix to ensure we are engaging our priority audiences and promoting inclusivity in the network Generate a recruitment campaign through a range of channels to get more employers involved in this area of work. Increase the diversity of organisations and volunteers working with us in relation to small/medium size businesses, sector, ethnicity, and disability being absolutely essential priorities for targeted engagement. Raise awareness and celebrate the work of See It Be It, shining a light on the businesses who are contributing and the schools/students benefitting from these meaningful employer encounters. As a large organisation, we have several specialist services who may be able to support specific work or campaigns. Where this is the case, the Project and Programmes Coordinator for See It Be It in Sheffield will facilitate introductions and broker engagement/support as requested.
