Research on the Accessible Vehicles and Equipment (AVE) Scheme in the context of devolved disability benefits

This specification sets out what is required for research to support an overall assessment of the Accessible Vehicle and Equipment Scheme with respect to people’s entitlement and needs. The research will help Scottish Government to understand about the experiences of different groups in relation to the scheme and provide evidence to support and improve policy and practice. A research project that will feed into a policy impact evaluation of the Accessible Vehicles and Equipment (AVE) Scheme in the delivery of the devolved disability benefits. The Scheme provides an equivalent to the Motability Scheme; it helps to provide disabled people in Scotland with access to vehicles or mobility equipment. This research is to be completed over approximately the next year and will provide insight into the views and experiences of different groups, including AVE scheme providers, disability benefit clients and dealers who work on behalf of providers.
