Tender description

Contract Award Notice for the Porthcawl Metro-Link to Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC). The following is a brief description taken from the Preliminaries Document for the Design and Construction of a new bus terminus in Porthcawl. The Client is seeking a Principal Contractor to Design and Construct a new Metro-Link facility in close liaison with the Authority’s Appointed Person(s). The works comprise of, but not limited to the following: * Act as Principal Contractor for the duration of the works under CDM Regulations 2015. * Excavation; cut and fill to suit site requirements. * Substructure; Piled foundations, ground beam and ground bearing slab. * Hard landscaping. * Structural steel frame installation. *Green roof. * Curtain Walling to form enclosed structure. * Adaptions to existing highway to accommodate vehicular movement to new station. * Below ground drainage works. * Mechanical and Electrical installations to Terminus; street lighting columns, emergency lighting, CCTV. * Joinery / furniture seating items. * Soft landscaping / planting. * Pedestrian guardrail to west of the Portway. * Please refer to ‘Scope’ for detailed information. * The Contractor should refer to Drawing JUB-XX-DR-C-0700 for the extent of additional works outside of the scheme. An retail store is being developed to the north of the Bus Terminus where a controlled pedestrian crossing is being installed by others. Therefore, the Contractor is to design and construct an additional length of footway north of the Bus Terminus to connect the new facility to the crossing point. The contractor will also need to apply for a temporary 20mph traffic order to the extents shown on drawing JUB-XX-DR-C-0720, all information relating to this is included on the drawing. Contract: NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (2017) Option A (With Contractor Design) and supplementary conditions at Annex 2 - Option Z Clauses appropriate to all Bridgend CBC Contracts.
