MCF3 Lot 2 Further Competition for the provision of Identity & Access Management Strategy and Governance Support to NHS England and NHS Improvement

Tender description

The procurement route followed was a further competition under the RM6187 Management Consultancy Framework Three (MCF3) Lot 2 - Strategy and Policy. Identity management of staff, workers, patients and citizens affects all areas of work and all information technology and security initiatives in the NHS. Key NHS programmes and in general the NHSX Digital Transformation initiatives depend on the establishment of a joint approach to Identity and Workforce Management issues. The areas of identity and access management are closely related to workforce management in two directions, one being the Joiners-Movers-Leavers processes and systems access, and the other being the delivery of the "digital staff passport" capability to support staff movements. Developing these two areas will help the NHS achieve the objectives of digitalisation of health and care services, accelerating workforce onboarding and mobility and reducing the current overload of login operations ("logon burden") which affects all user types and all NHS organisations. This procurement has been carried out by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW) on behalf of the Commissioner(s).
