LDR4 Meath Abbeyland Navan - Ground Investigation

Tender description

The scheme runs in a north-south direction across the River Blackwater between L3409 Ratholdron Road and N51/R147 Kells Road. The location is characterised by presence of open greenfield area with some wooded areas in the section north of the River Blackwater, runs to the west of the recently developed Blackwater Park. The southern section of the study area contains the River Blackwater, and continuing to the south until the scheme meets the N51/R147 Kells Road, which is lined by both residential and commercial properties. The River Blackwater is a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and Special Protection Area (SPA). Several small historical quarry/ borrow pit exists at the site. The site is anticipated to be a green site. S1.4 Main works proposed and purpose of this contract The purpose of this investigation is to establish the ground profile across the site and inform design of the following: · Design of LDR4 Road · Design of Bridge Foundations · Design of Attenuation Pond Of primary interest is the nature of fill material, depth to natural soils and depth to competent bedrock.
