Tender description

ICOS Skillnet, a national network of co-operatives that represent many sectors of the Irish economy and agribusinesses, aims to provide and facilitate up-skilling and enhancing the skills of their staff and management through innovative customised and structured training & development programmes. The network consists of mainly dairy/multi-purpose co-operatives and livestock marketing co-operatives. Skillnet is an enterprise-led support body set up to manage enterprise training and workplace learning. ICOS Skillnet is co-funded by Skillnet Ireland and member companies. Skillnet Ireland is funded from the National Training Fund through the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. The network’s long-term strategy is to continue supporting the co-op and agribusiness sectors in meeting their training & development needs to sustain competitiveness and growth for the sectors. The aims of the programme are: - To provide industry specific, customised and most relevant training to the member companies in order to improve their competitiveness. - To promote training as a viable strategic tool. - To improve the quality of training and development activities and provide real opportunities to employees of the member companies. - To create a long-term future for co-operative businesses in rural areas. - To contribute to the up-skilling of the unemployed. An ambitious training programme is scheduled to run over the duration of the programme with all funding approved for 2023 to be expended by 31st December 2025 and can be extended for up to 5 years, subject to the approval of funding from Skillnet Ireland, through the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science being made available to the ICOS Skillnet. The ICOS Skillnet now invites tenders for the delivery of some of its training & development programmes.
