Consultancy Services for the completion of an Economic Development Strategy for County Meath 2014 – 2022

Tender description

Meath County Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified consultants for the completion of an Economic Development Strategy for County Meath 2014 - 2022. In order to ensure timely implementation, it is intended that this Economic Development Strategy will be inserted into the adopted Meath County Development Plan 2013-2019 by means of the Variation Process in 2014. This exercise is predicated on the premise that the Council’s strategies and actions are focused on delivering on the No. 1 Corporate Objective: “To drive the economic and social development of County Meath” and is also a proactive response to the government policy, ‘Putting People First – A New Role for Local Government’. The successful consultants shall be a multi-disciplinary practice / consortium with a team comprising expertise and experience in the following areas: - Economic Analysis , Business and Economic Development - Quality of Life Evaluation - Employment Creation - Urban and Regional Planning - Transportation - Marketing and Promotion - Implementation The process will involve:  Development of the Strategy in collaboration with Meath County Council, the Technical Working Group and the Meath Economic Forum.  Incorporating the findings of the NUIM Economic Baseline Study for Meath Local Authority and other relevant material.  Outlining future priority actions, policies and implementation procedures for recommendations. The final Economic Development Strategy will deliver 3 separate strands: 1) An Economic Action Plan 2) A Spatial Implementation Plan 3) A Marketing Plan Tender to be submitted to the Corporate Services Department, Meath County Council, no later than 4.00 p.m. on Thursday 20th February 2014.
