<p>Waltham Forest has a rich and proud cultural history. In 2019 it became London&rsquo;s first Borough and Culture with a wide-ranging programme of exhibitions and initiatives taking place across the Borough helping to showcase the best of Waltham Forest. The William Morris Gallery is a central part of our cultural offering and we want to safeguard the long-term future of the gallery and its collection to ensure it has the appropriate operating model and structure to preserve and maintain the gallery&rsquo;s legacy of educating, inspiring and engaging people from across our communities and the wider public, nationally, and internationally. We want future generations to be able to benefit and explore the internationally renowned collections of the William Morris Gallery and learn more about the life and work of this remarkable individual and his artistic collaborators. The William Morris Gallery is owned and operated by Waltham Forest Council. This review will consider the case for the William Morris Galley becoming a fully operational Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), weighing up the potential benefits and drawbacks of this proposal which will include a financial assessment for the Council.
